An experiment. I planted a packet of acorn squash seeds this spring, only one older grew. Three sages started on this plant, only one matured and it is big but not turning very green. I also planted seeds I saved from a store bought acorn squash, they grew very well. There are about 25 acorn squash growing, and some are turning darker green even though they are very small. I am sad I planted them two weeks late so might not get to eat any but for next year they I at least know they will do well if I start them a few weeks early I am in the same boat with my butter cup squash. They are doing well, if only I started them early.

I look forward with excitement what my garden will end up producing by fall. I am learning what types of squash and other veggies will do well in our short season summers. So far green zucchini, 8 ball zucchini and yellow zucchini are all I see growing right now for squash. I also planted Turks Turban squash, Buttercup squash, Acorn squash and Butternut squash but dont see any fruits on those ones yet. Fennel seems to be doing good, lettuce seems to be doing super well lol Swiss chard and beets are doing well. I am not sure I will get any cabbage but thought it was worth a try.
