Its that time!
Hi all :D I hope everyone is gearing up for spring madness? It is time to start you veggie seeds indoors for those like me with a short growing season. It is also time to start pruning your fruit trees, I will be pruning mine next week... I will be sharing the cuttings for people who graft these to an existing tree or to a rootstalk to make a new tree. There is lots to do one the snow disappears! Lol

2017 growing/gardening season
In my green house I see two honeydew melons growing, yay! The two squash seeds you see are baby green Hubbard, they are the most determined growing plants I ever had! I did an online seed trade , by the time I got the seeds they were mouldy. I got 10 seeds, five germinated. These five plants are so hardy! LOL

An experiment. I planted a packet of acorn squash seeds this spring, only one older grew. Three sages started on this plant, only one matured and it is big but not turning very green. I also planted seeds I saved from a store bought acorn squash, they grew very well. There are about 25 acorn squash growing, and some are turning darker green even though they are very small. I am sad I planted them two weeks late so might not get to eat any but for next year they I at least know they will do well if I start them a few weeks early I am in the same boat with my butter cup squash. They are doing well, if only I started them early.
